The scanner is designed to be inspectable: local image processing, editable matches, and clear market-data limits.
How do I use the scanner?
Open the in-game inventory, take a screenshot with complete slot borders, then paste or drop the image into the scanner. Review each match before using the estimate.
Are my screenshots uploaded?
No. The image is decoded and matched inside your browser tab. It is not sent to a server or saved to a user account.
What if an item is not recognized?
Use a screenshot at 100% scaling, avoid tooltips and dark overlays, and keep the full inventory grid visible. You can also search the catalog and add or edit any item manually.
Are market prices live?
The current local prototype uses a bundled market snapshot. Prices can change quickly, so open the linked Steam Community Market listing before trading.
Can I change the currency?
Yes. Choose USD, EUR, JPY, CNY, HKD, TWD, KRW, or BRL in the scanner toolbar. The preference is remembered on this device.
Why do I see a confidence score?
The score describes visual similarity between the screenshot crop and the local icon template. Lower-confidence rows deserve a manual check; they are not hidden from you.
